Out and About

As we find our parenting feet, it's been fun getting out and about near home with Lucy - first time on a boat, introducing her to neighbours on walks around the village, working out the logistics of going for coffee without endangering her with scalding beverages or dropping cake in her ear (we take it in turns, its not that hard)...
We're contemplating trips to Lanarkshire and next month Northern Ireland to see our families so it will all be good experience.

Getting to know granny - my mum came for two weeks to help us out and kept us in hot meals and Lucy in cuddles.
Off to Easdale island - and Lucy's first boat trip (she didn't seem that impressed, she slept through it)

Lucy's first week

More pics from the adventures of Lucy in her first week (doting first time parents who can't put the camera down...)With Auntie BarbaraMeeting Auntie Mhari and cousins Antony and Ciaran.Putting her in a babygro with blue on it seemed to really confuse all the hospital staff - but we think it's a bit dull for baby girls to wear only pink.

Here she is!

Welcome to the world, Lucy Iona McCartney Campbell! (We've already changed our mind about the middle name once - Anne or Ann is out the window and in comes Iona, sorry to confuse you...)
The picture above is just a few hours after birth.

First bath.
Much did not go according to plan and we are still recovering a bit from the Caesarian, a week in hospital (and hospital food!), some worries about Lucy not gaining weight, and well all the normal being new parents stuff. It's only been 48 hours since we got home and there's still lots of settling in to do and get on an even keel with sleeping and feeding - and that's just mum and dad.
