everything up to Christmas

New Year's Resolution - blog more.
Here's some stuff from the autumn.

Lots of cyclists from The Visitation, Taynuilt, including Paul, headed off round Loch Awe to raise money for the parish and local charities - even the weather was kind.

My first attempt at carving a pumpkin (I was raised on hollowing out turnips - very tough work).

Connel is beautiful in the sunshine.

Lucy was christened on November 14th in our local parish, with the grandparents (above) and lots of other visitors coming to be with us on the day.

And a wee do in the village hall afterwards to celebrate.

Then more visitors! Becky and Cara came in November.

Introducing Funny Bunny...

It's been cold before during and after Christmas - lowest temperature we recorded was -11, and we had ice on the inside of our windows. brrrr...
New Christmas hat from Auntie Anne
Taking Lucy swimming has become a favourite activity for us all.

And she's a fan of books too, though mostly trying to work out how to get them in her mouth...

Norn Iron

First trip to Northern Ireland for Lucy, and it was a pretty hectic visit trying to catch up with lots of friends and spend lots of time with family. A few restless nights, probably because of all the moving about different homes... but Paul and I did get a night out in a fancy restaurant for our wedding anniversary - thanks mum for baby sitting!

Introducing Lucy to seven-month old Aoife - will our wee girl ever be that big?!

A picnic on Kerrera

We decided to take the boat to the Isle of Kerrera a few weeks ago - making the most of the last hot days of summer for a picnic and a walk. Days like this make us so glad to live in such a beautiful part of the world!

Paul decides to see if little Lucy will fit in the cool bag...

Not on a picnic but more cute pictures!

Cumbernauld

We spent some time down in Cumbernauld introducing Lucy to more of Paul's family. With Michelle and Auntie Margaret

Out and About

As we find our parenting feet, it's been fun getting out and about near home with Lucy - first time on a boat, introducing her to neighbours on walks around the village, working out the logistics of going for coffee without endangering her with scalding beverages or dropping cake in her ear (we take it in turns, its not that hard)...
We're contemplating trips to Lanarkshire and next month Northern Ireland to see our families so it will all be good experience.

Getting to know granny - my mum came for two weeks to help us out and kept us in hot meals and Lucy in cuddles.
Off to Easdale island - and Lucy's first boat trip (she didn't seem that impressed, she slept through it)

Ready for the road
